An Appeal to Asma al-Assad, the Wife of the Syrian President

Asma, by virtue of you being the wife of the Syrian President, you are a mother to the whole Syrian nation. A mother is compassionate for her people but you seem to have lost it all. When people are killed, mothers cry from the heart, they cannot eat, their sorrow cannot be hidden but you seem to be moving on with your life as if nothing is happening, as if the children who have been killed and injured are not human beings. What has happened to your conscience Asma?
A mother is said to carry love that the world cannot carry, she can stand up for what she believes to be right even when it means death, persecution and trouble. Esther in the bible gives a good example, when she got a copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy all Jews, first we are told she was hesitant to do as Mordecai requested her for fear of the King that he will surely have her killed. As we command you toady as fellow sisters, mothers and women from over the world, so did Mordecai, he commanded and I would prefer say “challenged” Esther not to think about herself only that in your case Asma, you and your children will escape in the King’s house/hand, more than all Syrians - powerless and defenceless are they fall victim of this bloodshed. It might not be today or tomorrow but this evil thing will catch up with your family someday, it could be generations to come. You stand by and pretend as if nothing is happening as if you do not hear the voices crying out for help, what you sow today will surely reap what you sow You sow deaf eyes to the cry of many, make the right choice now, talk to your husband. You may say I am not the President and I have no choice, no voice to be heard. But as a woman I know what I am talking about, “God gave us power and authority”, beyond any imagination, every men out there can confirm this that when a woman stands up for what she believes in, no man can crush that! You too know it Asma. You purport to be the “first lady” or “the current mother” of Syrian, but turning a blind eye and closed ears to all what’s happening there, Asma, I command you as mother who knows how it feels to be pregnant and give life that you cannot lose life in the manner it is happening there, STAND UP for what ALL WOMAN BELIEVE IN! We give life and we can save it also!
Asma, if you and you as the only closest person to President al-Assad would hold the peace at this time, and stop your husband and his people NOW, only then shall there be peace and deliverance arise to the people of Syrian and the world over. Is it too much to ask what Esther did from you Asma (Esther 4:16) – go into a fast and declare to confront your husband, the President and “if you die, you will die for a good cause”. Not only will your children and people of Syria salute you as blessed, but us all fellow women and mothers will recognise you as a liberator to the innocent lives being killed and maimed there in Syria. Most liberators go in the forefront of the battle; yours can be so subtle, but very powerful and change the mindset and the barbaric action which has costed many lives.
I call upon women of power and authority in Syria if any to stand up and condemn this and ensure that the bloodshed is put to an end forthwith. Women all over the world, let us join hands together and expose this cruel, ruthless attack to ordinary people of Syria as unacceptable. As mothers we all know what it means to lose lives, these are human beings but even animals we would not standby, watch, fold our hands when God’s creatures are being killed, what more people?
