Women to Women
Women networking in Munich and Harare
Our Vision:
"We aim, within our city twinning, to try to get to know and understand women from a different culture, with whom, however, we already share so much."
A kitchen party, to which our friends the novelist and film maker Tsitsi Dangarembga and the writer (and much else beside) Virginia Phiri had invited us, was what started it of! Together, we decided to try to fulfil some of our dreams and invite other women to share them. We hope that many contacts will be the result, encounters with strong women and friendships. Our web site is intended to facilitate the development of a network between Harare and Munich (and perhaps further!) We hope it will help to create a network of women supporting each other.
We, women who work in HamuPa (Harare-Munich Partnership), and other women who have joined us on the way, would like to invite your participation. The creation of the web site was financed and supported by two departments from the administration of the City of Munich: the “Gleichstellungsstelle” – Equal rights desk and the “Stelle für internationale Zusammenarbeit der Landeshauptstadt, München“ - International Relations of the City of Munich desk.
Through our internet-supported network we would like to encourage hope and faith in the future, strengthen civil society, give time and ideas. Our web site is intended to facilitate communication, for instance for women who cannot travel either to Zimbabwe or Munich. We would like it to be used as a platform for contacts and information of all sorts.
Our web site is constructed to take account of the irregular availability of electricity and the smaller capacity of PCs in Harare and also to protect personal details so that women from Harare are not exposed to political repression as a result of participating in our network.

Come and join us and meet interesting and committed women who want to contribute to changing to world! If we want to change anything, we need courage, wit and clarity and sometimes, encouragement by our sisters. We need to know that we are not alone with our discoveries and our concerns.
